Ingredients
- 1 cup rice
- 2 cups water
- 1 onion
- 1 tbsp oil
- salt
- 1 plantain
- 3 tbsp oil
Instructions
- 1. Put the rice and water into a pot.
- 2. Bring the mixture to a boil.
- 3. Reduce the heat to the lowest setting.
- 4. Cover the pot.
- 5. Let the rice cook for about 20 minutes.
- 6. Peel the onion.
- 7. Finely chop the onion.
- 8. Heat the oil in a pan.
- 9. Sauté the onions in the oil.
- 10. Season the onions with salt.
- 11. Set aside the cooked rice.
- 12. Mix the onions into the rice.
- 13. Peel the plantain.
- 14. Slice the plantain into rounds.
- 15. Heat oil in the pan again.
- 16. Fry the plantain slices until crispy.
- 17. Turn the slices several times while frying.
- 18. Place the fried plantains on top of the rice.
- 19. Serve the dish.
