  1. 1. Peel the onion and the garlic clove and chop them very finely.
  2. 2. Mix the minced meat with the finely chopped onion-garlic mixture, the ground cumin, the ground coriander, the chopped coriander leaves, and the egg.
  3. 3. Knead in enough breadcrumbs to form a moldable dough.
  4. 4. Season the mixture with salt and cayenne pepper.
  5. 5. Form small balls from the meat mixture.
  6. 6. Roll the balls in flour until they are lightly coated.
  7. 7. Fry the balls in hot oil until golden brown.
  8. 8. Remove the finished balls from the pan and let them drain on a plate.
  9. 9. For the ragout, peel another onion and a garlic clove and chop them finely.
  10. 10. Wash the chili pepper and chop it finely.
  11. 11. Peel the butternut squash, remove the inside, and cut the flesh into cubes.
  12. 12. Sauté the onion and garlic in hot oil.
  13. 13. Add the chopped chili to the onion mixture.
  14. 14. Fold the squash cubes into the onion-chili mixture.
  15. 15. Simmer the vegetables, stirring occasionally, for about 15 minutes until tender.
  16. 16. Add a little water if the pan becomes too dry.
  17. 17. Add fresh thyme leaves to the ragout.
  18. 18. Finally, season the ragout with salt and pepper.
  19. 19. Add the prepared meatballs to the ragout.
  20. 20. Let the balls simmer together with the ragout for about 2 minutes.
  21. 21. Divide the hot ragout with the balls among pre-warmed plates.
  22. 22. Garnish the dish with fresh mint.
  23. 23. Place a dollop of yogurt on each plate as a side.
