🍰 Homemade Quince Syrup

Ingredients
- 500 g ripe quinces
- 1 cinnamon stick
- 2 cloves
- 1 star anise
- 200 g whole cane sugar
Instructions
- 1. Fill a clean jar or bottle with water and place it in a pot.
- 2. Bring the water to a rolling boil to sterilize the container for about 10 to 15 minutes.
- 3. Thoroughly wash the quinces under running water.
- 4. Cut the fruits into quarters and remove the core.
- 5. Cut the flesh into small cubes.
- 6. Place the quince cubes into a cooking pot.
- 7. Cover the fruits completely with water.
- 8. Cook the quinces over low heat for 40 minutes until they are soft.
- 9. Place the cooked fruits along with the cooking liquid into a clean cloth.
- 10. Hang the cloth over another container and squeeze out the juice well.
- 11. Pour the collected juice back into the pot.
- 12. Add the spices and the cane sugar.
- 13. Bring the mixture to a boil.
- 14. Continue to boil the syrup for 15 to 20 minutes.
- 15. Strain the finished syrup through a fine mesh sieve once more.
- 16. Pour the warm syrup into a sealable bottle or a sterilized jar.
- 17. Allow the syrup to cool down.
- 18. Seal the container tightly.
