  1. 1. Finely chop the candied orange peel, candied lemon peel, cranberries, and raisins.
  2. 2. Place the chopped fruits into a bowl.
  3. 3. Pour the rum over the fruits.
  4. 4. Let the fruits soak for a while.
  5. 5. Preheat the oven to 160 degrees Celsius fan-assisted.
  6. 6. Mix the flour with the baking powder.
  7. 7. Pour the flour mixture onto your work surface.
  8. 8. Create a well in the center of the flour mound.
  9. 9. Add the sugar into the well.
  10. 10. Add the lemon zest into the well.
  11. 11. Add the quark (curd cheese) into the well.
  12. 12. Add 150 grams of butter into the well.
  13. 13. Roughly chop the ingredients using a dough scraper or knife.
  14. 14. Quickly knead all ingredients into a smooth dough.
  15. 15. Fold the soaked fruits into the dough.
  16. 16. Shape the dough into a stollen loaf.
  17. 17. Place the stollen on a baking sheet lined with baking paper.
  18. 18. Optionally wrap the stollen with a folded strip of aluminum foil to keep its shape.
  19. 19. Bake the stollen in the oven for about 1 hour.
  20. 20. Cover the stollen with aluminum foil if it starts to brown too much.
  21. 21. Take the stollen out of the oven.
  22. 22. Melt the remaining butter.
  23. 23. Brush the hot stollen with the melted butter.
  24. 24. Dust the stollen generously with powdered sugar.
  25. 25. Let the stollen cool down completely.
