🍽️ Quark semolina dumplings with plums

Ingredients
- 500 g Low-fat quark
- 3 Eggs
- 1 packet Vanilla sugar
- 5 tbsp Flour
- Salt
- 60 g Durum wheat semolina
- 60 g Cornflakes
- 50 g Butter
- 1 tsp Sugar
- 0.5 tsp Cinnamon powder
- Plum compote (Homemade or jar)
- 700 g Plums
- 60 g Sugar
- Cinnamon (1/2 tsp each)
- Clove powder (1/2 tsp each)
- 20 ml Rum
Instructions
- 1. Whisk the eggs together with the vanilla sugar using a whisk.
- 2. Add the quark, flour, cream, and semolina.
- 3. Stir everything into a smooth dough.
- 4. Fill a large pot with water and 2 teaspoons of sugar.
- 5. Bring the water to a boil.
- 6. Reduce the heat to medium.
- 7. Moisten two spoons.
- 8. Form dumplings from the quark mixture.
- 9. Add the dumplings to the hot, but no longer boiling water.
- 10. Wait until the dumplings float to the surface.
- 11. Remove the dumplings from the water once they float.
- 12. Wash the plums.
- 13. Halve the plums.
- 14. Remove the pits.
- 15. Cut the plums into wedges.
- 16. Add the plums to a pot together with sugar, cinnamon, ground cloves, and rum.
- 17. Simmer the mixture, stirring occasionally, over medium heat for 8 to 10 minutes.
- 18. Wait until the fruit is soft.
- 19. Remove the pot from the heat.
- 20. Let the filling cool down.
- 21. Crumble the cornflakes with a rolling pin.
- 22. Lightly toast the cornflakes in a pan with the butter.
- 23. Place the finished quark dumplings on plates.
- 24. Sprinkle the dumplings with the toasted cornflakes.
- 25. Mix sugar and cinnamon.
- 26. Dust the dumplings with the cinnamon-sugar mixture.
- 27. Serve the dumplings immediately with the plum compote.
