  2. 2. Add the quark, flour, cream, and semolina.
  3. 3. Stir everything into a smooth dough.
  4. 4. Fill a large pot with water and 2 teaspoons of sugar.
  5. 5. Bring the water to a boil.
  6. 6. Reduce the heat to medium.
  7. 7. Moisten two spoons.
  8. 8. Form dumplings from the quark mixture.
  9. 9. Add the dumplings to the hot, but no longer boiling water.
  10. 10. Wait until the dumplings float to the surface.
  11. 11. Remove the dumplings from the water once they float.
  12. 12. Wash the plums.
  13. 13. Halve the plums.
  14. 14. Remove the pits.
  15. 15. Cut the plums into wedges.
  16. 16. Add the plums to a pot together with sugar, cinnamon, ground cloves, and rum.
  17. 17. Simmer the mixture, stirring occasionally, over medium heat for 8 to 10 minutes.
  18. 18. Wait until the fruit is soft.
  19. 19. Remove the pot from the heat.
  20. 20. Let the filling cool down.
  21. 21. Crumble the cornflakes with a rolling pin.
  22. 22. Lightly toast the cornflakes in a pan with the butter.

  26. 26. Dust the dumplings with the cinnamon-sugar mixture.
  27. 27. Serve the dumplings immediately with the plum compote.
