  1. 1. Put 20 g of cane sugar into a blender or chopper.
  2. 2. Grind the sugar until it is very fine and looks like powdered sugar.
  3. 3. Set the ground sugar aside.
  4. 4. Add flour, baking powder, salt, vanilla powder, and the remaining cane sugar to a bowl.
  5. 5. Mix the dry ingredients well together.
  6. 6. Add low-fat quark (curd cheese), eggs, and oil to the bowl.
  7. 7. Process everything with the dough hooks of a food processor until you have a smooth dough.
  8. 8. The dough should be slightly sticky.
  9. 9. Let the dough rest for 5 minutes.
  10. 10. Lightly dust your hands with flour.
  11. 11. Form small balls from the dough, about the size of walnuts.
  12. 12. Place the balls in the air fryer basket with some space between them.
  13. 13. Preheat the air fryer to 180 °C.
  14. 14. Bake the quark balls for 8 to 10 minutes until golden brown.
  15. 15. Turn the balls once halfway through the cooking time.
  16. 16. Let the quark balls cool down for a short moment.
  17. 17. Dust the lukewarm balls with the ground cane sugar.
