🍽️ Crispy Quark Balls from the Air Fryer

Ingredients
- 35 g Demerara sugar
- 250 g Spelt flour Type 1050
- 2 tsp Baking powder
- 1 pinch Salt
- 1 tsp Vanilla powder
- 250 g Low-fat quark
- 2 Eggs
- 2 tbsp Rapeseed oil
Instructions
- 1. Put 20 g of cane sugar into a blender or chopper.
- 2. Grind the sugar until it is very fine and looks like powdered sugar.
- 3. Set the ground sugar aside.
- 4. Add flour, baking powder, salt, vanilla powder, and the remaining cane sugar to a bowl.
- 5. Mix the dry ingredients well together.
- 6. Add low-fat quark (curd cheese), eggs, and oil to the bowl.
- 7. Process everything with the dough hooks of a food processor until you have a smooth dough.
- 8. The dough should be slightly sticky.
- 9. Let the dough rest for 5 minutes.
- 10. Lightly dust your hands with flour.
- 11. Form small balls from the dough, about the size of walnuts.
- 12. Place the balls in the air fryer basket with some space between them.
- 13. Preheat the air fryer to 180 °C.
- 14. Bake the quark balls for 8 to 10 minutes until golden brown.
- 15. Turn the balls once halfway through the cooking time.
- 16. Let the quark balls cool down for a short moment.
- 17. Dust the lukewarm balls with the ground cane sugar.
