🍽️ Turkey Strips with Mushrooms and Rice

Ingredients
- 150 g long-grain rice (parboiled)
- salt
- 320 g turkey breast fillet
- 1 onion
- 200 g mushrooms
- 2 tbsp olive oil
- pepper
- 0.5 tbsp spelt wholemeal flour
- 250 ml vegetable broth
- 200 ml cooking cream
- dried thyme
Instructions
- 1. Bring water to a boil and add some salt.
- 2. Add the rice to the boiling water and cook it according to the package instructions.
- 3. Rinse the turkey breast fillet under running water.
- 4. Pat the meat dry with a kitchen towel.
- 5. Cut the turkey fillet into thin strips.
- 6. Peel the onion.
- 7. Halve the onion.
- 8. Slice the onion halves into thin slices.
- 9. Clean the mushrooms of dirt.
- 10. Halve the mushrooms.
- 11. Add oil to a frying pan.
- 12. Heat the oil over high heat.
- 13. Sear the turkey strips briefly in the pan.
- 14. Season the meat with salt.
- 15. Season the meat with pepper.
- 16. Remove the turkey strips from the pan and set them aside.
- 17. Add the onion slices to the pan.
- 18. Add the mushrooms to the pan.
- 19. Sauté the vegetables over medium heat.
- 20. Stir the vegetables constantly.
- 21. Sauté the vegetables for 2 minutes.
- 22. Dust the onion-mushroom mixture with flour.
- 23. Add the broth to the pan.
- 24. Bring the mixture to a boil.
- 25. Add the cooking cream to the pan.
- 26. Return the turkey strips to the pan.
- 27. Simmer the stroganoff over medium heat.
- 28. Simmer the dish for 5 minutes.
- 29. Season the dish with salt.
- 30. Season the dish with pepper.
- 31. Season the dish with thyme.
- 32. Serve the stroganoff together with the rice.
