🍽️ Turkey meatballs on skewers with yogurt dip and pita bread

Ingredients
- 1 bread roll (from the day before)
- 125 ml milk (1.5% fat) (lukewarm)
- 500 g turkey breast fillet
- 1 red chili pepper
- 3 garlic cloves
- 4 sprigs mint
- 1 egg
- salt
- pepper
- 2 tbsp rapeseed oil
- 150 g yogurt (3.5% fat)
- 1 dash lemon juice
- 4 pita breads
- 8 wooden skewers
Instructions
- 1. Soak the bread rolls in the milk.
- 2. Rinse the turkey breast fillet under cold water.
- 3. Pat the meat dry with a kitchen towel.
- 4. Cut the meat into small cubes.
- 5. Grind the meat cubes through a meat grinder with a fine plate.
- 6. Wash the chili pepper under running water.
- 7. Remove the stem and seeds of the chili pepper.
- 8. Finely chop the chili pepper.
- 9. Peel one clove of garlic.
- 10. Wash the mint.
- 11. Shake the mint dry.
- 12. Pluck the mint leaves from the stems.
- 13. Finely chop half of the mint leaves.
- 14. Squeeze the soaked bread roll to remove excess milk.
- 15. Mix the minced meat with the egg.
- 16. Add the squeezed bread roll to the meat.
- 17. Add the chopped mint to the meat.
- 18. Add the chopped chili pepper to the meat.
- 19. Press the peeled clove of garlic directly into the meat mixture.
- 20. Season the mixture with salt.
- 21. Season the mixture with pepper.
- 22. Form 16 equal-sized balls from the meat mixture.
- 23. Thread two meatballs alternating with the remaining mint leaves onto a wooden skewer.
- 24. Repeat this until all meatballs are on skewers.
- 25. Heat oil in a pan.
- 26. Fry the meatballs over medium heat.
- 27. Fry the balls until golden brown all over.
- 28. Fry the balls for about 10 minutes.
- 29. Peel the remaining garlic.
- 30. Press the garlic into the yogurt.
- 31. Season the yogurt dip with salt.
- 32. Season the yogurt dip with pepper.
- 33. Add lemon juice to the yogurt dip.
- 34. Heat a pan without fat.
- 35. Toast the pita breads in the hot pan.
- 36. Toast the pita breads on both sides.
- 37. Toast the pita breads over high heat.
- 38. Toast the pita breads for about 1 to 2 minutes.
- 39. Serve the pita breads with the turkey skewers.
- 40. Serve the turkey skewers with the yogurt dip.
