🍽️ Aromatic Port Wine Butter

Ingredients
- 125 g soft butter
- 50 g shallots
- 1 clove garlic
- 50 ml port wine
- 50 ml vegetable broth
- 0.5 tsp honey
- 3 sprigs thyme
- 1 pinch salt
- pepper (from the mill)
- 1 pinch ground cumin
Instructions
- 1. Place the butter in a mixing bowl.
- 2. Beat the butter with a mixer until fluffy.
- 3. Peel the shallots and the garlic.
- 4. Halve the shallots.
- 5. Dice or chop the shallots and garlic very finely.
- 6. Put the diced shallots, garlic, port wine, and broth into a pot.
- 7. Heat the mixture in the pot.
- 8. Add the honey to the mixture.
- 9. Let the mixture reduce for about 20 minutes.
- 10. Remove the pot from the heat.
- 11. Let the mixture cool down.
- 12. Wash the thyme.
- 13. Shake the thyme dry.
- 14. Pluck the thyme leaves from the stems.
- 15. Finely chop the thyme leaves.
- 16. Stir the chopped thyme leaves into the cooled onion mixture.
- 17. Season the mixture with salt.
- 18. Season the mixture with pepper.
- 19. Add a pinch of ground cumin.
- 20. Mix the seasoned onion mixture with the fluffy butter.
- 21. Fill the butter into small bowls.
- 22. Place the bowls in the refrigerator for about 1 hour.
- 23. Garnish the finished butter with thyme flowers.
- 24. Serve the port wine butter.
