🍽️ Crispy Oven Fries with Sesame Salt

Ingredients
- 450 g large waxy potatoes
- 2 tbsp olive oil (20 ml each)
- 1 tsp turmeric
- 2 tsp unpeeled sesame seeds
- coarse sea salt
Instructions
- 1. Wash the potatoes thoroughly under running water.
- 2. Peel the potatoes completely.
- 3. Cut the potatoes into sticks approximately 1 cm thick.
- 4. Place the potato sticks immediately into a large bowl.
- 5. Add the oil and turmeric to the bowl.
- 6. Mix everything well until the potatoes are evenly coated.
- 7. Line a baking tray with baking paper.
- 8. Spread the potato sticks out flat on the tray.
- 9. Preheat the oven to 200 °C (180 °C with fan or gas mark 3).
- 10. Place the tray on the second rack from the bottom.
- 11. Bake the fries for about 35 minutes.
- 12. Turn the potatoes twice during the baking time.
- 13. Put the sesame seeds into a dry frying pan.
- 14. Toast the sesame seeds without adding extra fat.
- 15. Place the toasted sesame seeds into a mortar.
- 16. Add a little salt.
- 17. Coarsely grind the mixture using the pestle.
- 18. Take the finished fries out of the oven.
- 19. Sprinkle the sesame salt evenly over them.
- 20. Serve the fries immediately while hot.
