🍕 Tuna Pizza with Caramelized Onions

Ingredients
- 6 shallots
- 2 tbsp olive oil
- 300 g tuna can (packed in its own juice)
- 400 g chopped tomatoes (can)
- 100 g grated cheese (e.g. Gouda)
- olive oil (for drizzling)
- 2 tsp dried oregano
- oil (for the pizza trays)
- 10 g fresh yeast
- 400 g flour
- 1 tsp salt
Instructions
- 1. Crumble the yeast into 50 ml of lukewarm water and stir until dissolved.
- 2. Mix the flour with the salt in a bowl.
- 3. Make a well in the center of the flour mixture and pour in the yeast-water mixture.
- 4. Lightly dust the surface with a little flour.
- 5. Cover the bowl and let the dough rest in a warm place for 15 minutes.
- 6. Add about 100 to 150 ml of lukewarm water gradually.
- 7. Knead the dough until it is smooth and elastic.
- 8. Shape the dough into a ball.
- 9. Cover the dough ball and let it rise for 1 hour.
- 10. Preheat the oven to 220°C fan-forced.
- 11. Brush the pizza trays with oil.
- 12. Peel the shallot and slice it lengthwise into thin strips.
- 13. Heat the olive oil in a pan.
- 14. Sauté the shallot strips in it until translucent.
- 15. Let the onions cool down.
- 16. Shred the tuna into pieces using your hands.
- 17. Knead the dough vigorously again after the resting period.
- 18. Work in a little more flour if the dough is sticky.
- 19. Divide the dough into four equal parts.
- 20. Lightly flour the work surface.
- 21. Roll each dough part into a thin pizza base.
- 22. Place the pizzas on the prepared pizza trays.
- 23. Press the dough slightly into the trays.
- 24. Spread the chunky tomatoes over the pizzas.
- 25. Leave a border of 1.5 cm free around the edge.
- 26. Sprinkle the cheese over the top.
- 27. Top the pizzas with the sautéed onions.
- 28. Distribute the shredded tuna over the onions.
- 29. Drizzle the pizzas with a little olive oil.
- 30. Sprinkle dried oregano over the top.
- 31. Bake the pizzas in the preheated oven for 20 to 25 minutes.
