🍕 Tuna Pizza with Caramelized Onions

Ingredients
- 15 g fresh yeast
- 400 g flour
- 1 tsp salt
- 2 onions
- 2 tbsp olive oil
- 400 g tuna can (packed in its own juice)
- 400 g chopped tomatoes (can)
- salt
- pepper (from the mill)
- 150 g grated cheese (e.g. Gouda)
- olive oil (for drizzling)
- 2 tbsp freshly chopped parsley
- oil (for the pizza trays)
Instructions
- 1. Crumble the yeast into 50 milliliters of lukewarm water and stir until dissolved.
- 2. Mix the flour with the salt and make a well in the center.
- 3. Pour the yeast mixture into the well and lightly dust the surface with flour.
- 4. Cover the bowl and let the dough rest in a warm place for 15 minutes.
- 5. Gradually add 100 to 150 milliliters of lukewarm water and knead the dough until smooth.
- 6. Shape the dough into a ball, cover it, and let it rise for 1 hour.
- 7. Preheat the oven to 220 degrees Celsius fan-forced.
- 8. Brush the pizza trays with some oil.
- 9. Peel the onions and dice them into small cubes.
- 10. Heat the olive oil in a pan and sauté the onions until golden brown.
- 11. Let the onions cool down completely.
- 12. Drain the tuna well and shred the pieces by hand.
- 13. Knead the dough vigorously again after the resting period.
- 14. Divide the dough into four equal parts.
- 15. Work in a little extra flour if necessary.
- 16. Roll out the dough portions on a lightly floured surface into thin pizzas.
- 17. Place the pizzas on the prepared trays and press them in.
- 18. Spread the chunky tomatoes over the pizzas, leaving a border of about 1 centimeter.
- 19. Season the tomato sauce with salt and pepper.
- 20. Sprinkle the cheese evenly over the top.
- 21. Distribute the cooled onions and tuna over the pizzas.
- 22. Drizzle the pizzas with a little olive oil.
- 23. Bake the pizzas in the preheated oven for 20 to 25 minutes.
- 24. Sprinkle the finished pizza with parsley and serve immediately.
