🍕 Crispy Pizza Toasts with Tomato, Olive and Cheese

Ingredients
- 4 slices whole wheat toast
- 1 small onion
- 1 tbsp olive oil
- 150 g chunky tomatoes (can)
- 1 tbsp tomato paste
- salt
- pepper
- 2 tbsp black olives (pitted)
- 150 g cherry tomatoes
- 125 g mozzarella
- 1 handful basil
Instructions
- 1. Place the toast slices in the toaster for one minute.
- 2. Remove the slices when they are lightly golden brown.
- 3. Line a baking sheet with baking paper.
- 4. Place the toasted slices on the tray.
- 5. Peel the onion.
- 6. Dice the onion finely.
- 7. Heat the oil in a pan.
- 8. Sauté the onion cubes over medium heat.
- 9. Wait until the onions are translucent.
- 10. Deglaze the onions with the tomatoes.
- 11. Stir the tomato paste into the mixture.
- 12. Season the sauce with some salt and pepper.
- 13. Let the sauce simmer for about five minutes over low heat.
- 14. Slice the olives into rings.
- 15. Wash the tomatoes thoroughly.
- 16. Pat the tomatoes dry with a cloth.
- 17. Slice the tomatoes.
- 18. Drain the mozzarella well.
- 19. Cut the mozzarella into cubes.
- 20. Spread the tomato sauce evenly over the toast slices.
- 21. Place the tomato slices on the toast slices.
- 22. Distribute the olive rings on the toast slices.
- 23. Sprinkle the mozzarella over the topped toast slices.
- 24. Preheat the oven to 200 degrees Celsius conventional heat.
- 25. Bake the pizza toasts for about ten to fifteen minutes.
- 26. Wash the basil.
- 27. Shake the basil dry.
- 28. Pick the basil leaves off the stems.
- 29. Serve the finished toasts.
- 30. Garnish the toasts with the fresh basil leaves.
