🍽️ Pizza Toast

Ingredients
- 100 g mushrooms
- 4 tbsp tomato paste
- 1 tsp oregano
- 0.5 orange
- salt
- white pepper
- 4 slices whole wheat toast
- 120 g cooked ham (4 slices)
- 2 stems basil
- 100 g grated pizza cheese
Instructions
- 1. Clean the mushrooms thoroughly. Use a brush or kitchen paper to remove any dirt.
- 2. Slice the mushrooms into very thin pieces.
- 3. Put the tomato paste and oregano into a small bowl.
- 4. Squeeze the juice from half of the orange.
- 5. Measure exactly one tablespoon of the orange juice.
- 6. Add the measured orange juice to the tomato paste.
- 7. Stir the mixture until smooth and well combined.
- 8. Season the sauce lightly with salt and pepper.
- 9. Spread the sauce evenly over the toast bread slices.
- 10. Place the mushroom slices on top of the sauced toast slices.
- 11. Cut the ham into thin strips.
- 12. Wash the basil under running water.
- 13. Shake the basil dry.
- 14. Pluck the basil leaves from the stems.
- 15. Cut the basil leaves into fine strips as well.
- 16. Line a baking sheet with baking paper.
- 17. Place the prepared toast slices on the baking sheet.
- 18. Distribute the ham strips evenly over the toast slices.
- 19. Sprinkle the basil strips over the top.
- 20. Cover everything generously with cheese.
- 21. Preheat the oven to 180 °C (160 °C with fan or gas level 2-3).
- 22. Put the pizza toast into the preheated oven.
- 23. Bake the toast for 8 to 10 minutes until golden brown.
