🍕 Crispy Pizza Rolls

Ingredients
- 500 g flour
- 250 ml lukewarm water
- 1 pinch sugar
- 20 g yeast (0.5 cube)
- 1 tsp salt
- 3 tbsp olive oil
- 1 bunch basil (large, leaves)
- 250 g mozzarella (diced)
- 125 g Parma ham (thinly sliced)
- 40 g Parmesan (grated)
- 50 g walnuts (chopped)
- olive oil (for brushing)
- flour (for the work surface)
- 3 thyme sprigs
Instructions
- 1. Dissolve the yeast in a small amount of lukewarm water.
- 2. Stir in the sugar until the yeast has completely dissolved.
- 3. Mix the yeast mixture with the remaining dough ingredients.
- 4. Knead everything into a smooth dough.
- 5. Cover the dough and let it rise in a warm place for about 1 hour.
- 6. Preheat the oven to 50 degrees Celsius to maintain the ideal rising temperature.
- 7. Sprinkle some flour on your work surface.
- 8. Roll the dough out into a rectangle measuring approximately 30 by 35 centimeters.
- 9. Distribute the basil leaves evenly over the dough.
- 10. Add the mozzarella cubes on top.
- 11. Place the ham pieces on top.
- 12. Sprinkle the parmesan over it.
- 13. Distribute the walnuts evenly over the surface.
- 14. Fold in the two long sides of the dough slightly towards the center.
- 15. Roll the dough up tightly starting from the short side.
- 16. Place the roll seam-side down on a greased baking sheet.
- 17. Poke the dough several times deeply with a long needle, all the way to the bottom.
- 18. Brush the surface with a little olive oil.
- 19. Press the thyme sprigs slightly into the dough.
- 20. Preheat the oven to 180 degrees Celsius.
- 21. Bake the rolls for about 35 minutes until golden brown.
- 22. Remove the rolls from the oven.
- 23. Drizzle them again with a little oil.
- 24. Let the rolls cool down.
- 25. Slice the cooled rolls into pieces.
- 26. Serve the pizza rolls.
