🍕 Pizza with Spinach and Ham

Ingredients
- 0.5 cube yeast (21 g)
- 1 pinch sugar
- 400 g flour
- 4 tbsp olive oil
- 1 tsp salt
- 1 kg tomatoes
- 1 tbsp freshly chopped thyme
- salt
- pepper (from the mill)
- 1 pinch sugar
- 250 g ham
- 1 handful young leaf spinach
- 125 g grated cheese (e.g. Gouda)
- olive oil (for drizzling)
- thyme (for garnish)
Instructions
- 1. Crumble the yeast into a bowl.
- 2. Stir the yeast with the sugar and about 200 milliliters of lukewarm water until smooth.
- 3. Add the flour, the olive oil, and the salt.
- 4. Knead everything into a smooth dough.
- 5. Cover the dough and let it rise in a warm place for about 1 hour.
- 6. Preheat the oven with the baking sheets to 240 degrees.
- 7. Divide the dough into 4 equal balls.
- 8. Dust some flour on the work surface.
- 9. Roll each dough ball into a round flatbread with a diameter of 20 to 24 centimeters.
- 10. Place the pizza bases on baking paper.
- 11. Peel the tomatoes.
- 12. Quarter the tomatoes and remove the seeds.
- 13. Dice the tomatoes finely.
- 14. Add the thyme to the tomatoes.
- 15. Lightly salt and pepper the tomatoes.
- 16. Season the tomatoes with a little sugar.
- 17. Dice the ham.
- 18. Mix the ham into the tomatoes.
- 19. Wash the spinach.
- 20. Remove the tough stems from the spinach.
- 21. Let the spinach drain well.
- 22. Distribute the tomato mixture on the pizza bases.
- 23. Leave a border of about 1 centimeter free.
- 24. Sprinkle the pizzas with the ham.
- 25. Sprinkle the pizzas with the cheese.
- 26. Sprinkle the pizzas with the spinach.
- 27. Drizzle the pizzas with a little oil.
- 28. Place the baking paper with the pizzas on the hot baking sheets.
- 29. Bake the pizzas in the preheated oven for about 10 to 15 minutes until golden brown.
- 30. Serve the pizzas hot.
