🍕 Pizza with Bell Peppers and Air-Dried Ham (Pancetta)

Ingredients
- 0.5 cube fresh yeast
- 500 g flour
- 1 tsp salt
- 0.5 tsp sugar
- 3 tbsp olive oil
- flour (for the work surface)
- 2 garlic cloves
- 4 tbsp olive oil (for frying and drizzling)
- 350 g chopped tomatoes (can)
- pepper (from the mill)
- 1 tsp dried oregano
- 1 red bell pepper
- 1 orange bell pepper
- 1 green bell pepper
- 2 red chili peppers
- 1 bunch spring onions
- 300 g pancetta (sliced)
Instructions
- 1. Stir the yeast into 250 milliliters of lukewarm water in a small bowl.
- 2. Mix the flour with the salt and the sugar in a large bowl.
- 3. Make a well in the center of the flour mixture.
- 4. Pour the yeast-water mixture and the oil into the well.
- 5. Work all ingredients into a smooth dough using your hands or a dough hook.
- 6. If the dough seems too dry, work in a little lukewarm water.
- 7. If the dough seems too sticky, add a little more flour.
- 8. Knead the dough vigorously on a floured surface for about 10 minutes.
- 9. Let the dough rise, covered, in a warm place for about 1 hour.
- 10. Peel the garlic cloves and chop them finely.
- 11. Sauté the garlic in a pot with 1 tablespoon of hot oil until translucent.
- 12. Pour the tomatoes over the garlic.
- 13. Season the sauce with salt, pepper, and oregano.
- 14. Simmer the sauce over medium heat for about 5 minutes.
- 15. Remove the pot from the heat and let the sauce cool down.
- 16. Wash the bell peppers and cut off the tops.
- 17. Remove the core from the bell peppers.
- 18. Slice the bell peppers into thin rings.
- 19. Wash the chili peppers and remove the stems.
- 20. Slice the chili peppers.
- 21. Optionally remove the seeds from the chili peppers.
- 22. Wash and trim the spring onions.
- 23. Dice the spring onions into small cubes.
- 24. Preheat the oven to 200 degrees Celsius with top and bottom heat.
- 25. Line a baking sheet (30x40 cm) or two small sheets (20x30 cm) with baking paper.
- 26. Knead the dough briefly again after it has risen.
- 27. Stretch the dough out on the prepared baking sheet.
- 28. Shape the edge of the dough slightly thicker than the center.
- 29. Spread the cooled tomato sauce over the dough.
- 30. Top the pizza with the slices of pancetta.
- 31. Distribute the bell pepper and chili rings, as well as the spring onions, on top.
- 32. Season the toppings lightly with pepper.
- 33. Drizzle the pizza with a little olive oil.
- 34. Bake the pizza in the preheated oven for about 25 minutes.
- 35. Remove the finished pizza from the oven.
- 36. Cut the pizza into pieces and serve.
