🍕 Crispy Pizza with Cherry Tomatoes and Fresh Basil

Ingredients
- 21 g yeast (0.5 cube)
- 1 pinch sugar
- 450 g flour
- 4 tbsp olive oil
- 1 tsp salt
- flour (for working)
- 350 g chunky tomatoes (can)
- 1 tsp dried oregano
- salt
- pepper (from the mill)
- 500 g cherry tomatoes (yellow and red)
- 300 g mozzarella
- olive oil (for drizzling)
- basil (for sprinkling)
Instructions
- 1. Crumble the yeast into a large bowl.
- 2. Mix the yeast with the sugar and 200 milliliters of lukewarm water until a smooth liquid forms.
- 3. Add the flour, 4 tablespoons of olive oil, and a pinch of salt to the yeast mixture.
- 4. Knead the ingredients into a smooth dough.
- 5. Cover the bowl and let the dough rise in a warm place for about 1 hour.
- 6. Preheat the oven to 240 degrees Celsius with fan setting and place the baking trays inside.
- 7. Divide the dough into 4 equal parts and shape them into balls.
- 8. Dust some flour on the work surface and roll each dough ball into a round flatbread with a diameter of approx. 22 centimeters.
- 9. Make sure the edge remains slightly thicker than the center.
- 10. Place the pizza bases on trays lined with baking paper or on lightly oiled pizza trays.
- 11. Mix the pureed tomatoes with the oregano.
- 12. Season the tomato sauce with salt and pepper to taste.
- 13. Spread the sauce evenly over the pizza bases, but leave the edge free.
- 14. Wash the cherry tomatoes thoroughly.
- 15. Remove the stems from the tomatoes.
- 16. Dry the tomatoes well so they do not release water.
- 17. Distribute the halved or whole cherry tomatoes over the pizzas.
- 18. Slice the mozzarella into thin slices.
- 19. Place the mozzarella slices on top of the tomatoes.
- 20. Season the pizzas again generously with salt and pepper.
- 21. Drizzle some olive oil over the toppings.
- 22. Carefully slide the pizzas onto the hot baking trays.
- 23. Bake the pizzas for approx. 10 minutes in the preheated oven until the crust is golden brown.
- 24. Sprinkle the finished pizzas with fresh basil leaves.
- 25. Serve the pizzas immediately while hot.
