🍕 Classic Pizza Margherita

Ingredients
- 250 g flour
- 20 g fresh yeast
- 0.125 l lukewarm water
- salt
- 4 tbsp olive oil
- 400 g tomatoes
- 0.5 green bell pepper
- 2 tbsp olive oil
- 1 tsp oregano
- salt (and)
- pepper
- 2 garlic cloves
- 200 g mozzarella
- 1 tbsp black olives
Instructions
- 1. Place the flour in a large bowl and make a small well in the center.
- 2. Crumble the yeast into some water and stir until smooth.
- 3. Pour the yeast mixture into the well, dust lightly with flour, and let the dough rest covered for 15 minutes.
- 4. Add the remaining water, salt, and oil.
- 5. Knead everything into a smooth and elastic dough.
- 6. Cover the dough and let it rise in a warm place for about one hour until it has almost doubled in size.
- 7. Pour boiling water over the tomatoes, let them sit briefly, and shock them with cold water.
- 8. Remove the skin from the tomatoes and dice the flesh into small cubes.
- 9. Place the tomato cubes in a pot with one tablespoon of oil.
- 10. Simmer the tomatoes over high heat for about 5 minutes.
- 11. Wash the bell pepper, remove the stem, and discard the seeds.
- 12. Cut the bell pepper into thin strips.
- 13. Season the tomato sauce with oregano, salt, and pepper.
- 14. Finely chop the garlic and stir it into the sauce.
- 15. Slice the mozzarella cheese.
- 16. Lightly grease a pizza pan with oil.
- 17. Knead the dough briefly and roll it out on a floured surface.
- 18. Place the dough into the prepared pan.
- 19. Evenly distribute the tomato sauce, pepper strips, olives, and mozzarella slices over the dough.
- 20. Drizzle the remaining olive oil over the toppings.
- 21. Preheat the oven to 250 degrees Celsius.
- 22. Bake the pizza in the hot oven for about 15 minutes.
- 23. Garnish the finished pizza with fresh tomato slices if desired and serve.
