🍽️ Crispy Mushroom Toast with Thyme

Ingredients
- 1 sprig thyme
- 500 g small brown mushrooms
- 2 garlic cloves
- 2 tbsp olive oil (20 g each)
- 2 tbsp balsamic vinegar
- 0.5 tsp brown sugar
- salt
- pepper (from the mill)
- 8 slices white bread
- coarse sea salt
Instructions
- 1. Wash the thyme and shake it dry. Pluck the small leaves off the stems.
- 2. Clean the mushrooms and slice them into thin pieces.
- 3. Peel the garlic and chop it finely.
- 4. Heat the oil in a pan over medium heat.
- 5. Add the chopped garlic to the hot pan and sauté it briefly.
- 6. Add the mushroom slices to the pan.
- 7. Fry the mushrooms while stirring constantly for 3 to 4 minutes.
- 8. Deglaze the pan with the vinegar.
- 9. Sprinkle the sugar over the mushrooms.
- 10. Continue frying the mixture for another 3 to 4 minutes until the liquid has almost completely reduced.
- 11. Season the mushrooms with salt and pepper to taste.
- 12. Toast the bread slices in the toaster until golden brown.
- 13. Distribute the warm mushrooms evenly over the toast slices.
- 14. Sprinkle the finished toast with the fresh thyme leaves and some sea salt.
- 15. Serve the toast immediately.
