🍽️ Spicy Rice Dish

Ingredients
- 100 g long-grain rice
- 200 g pork schnitzel
- 2 tbsp oil
- 1 stalk leek
- 1 red chili pepper
- 1 larger tomato
- salt
- pepper (from the mill)
- 4 tbsp sweet-sour chili sauce (ready-made product, Asian store)
- 1 tbsp chive rings
Instructions
- 1. Put the rice in a pot.
- 2. Add lightly salted water. Use about twice as much water as rice.
- 3. Bring the water to a boil.
- 4. Cover the pot.
- 5. Let the rice swell on very low heat for approx. 25 minutes.
- 6. Wash the leek.
- 7. Remove the tough ends from the leek.
- 8. Cut the leek into rings.
- 9. Wash the chili pepper.
- 10. Cut the chili pepper lengthwise.
- 11. Remove the seeds and all white inner membranes of the chili.
- 12. Cut the chili into fine rings.
- 13. Blanch the tomato briefly with boiling water.
- 14. Shock the tomato with cold water.
- 15. Remove the skin from the tomato.
- 16. Quarter the tomato.
- 17. Remove the seeds from the tomato.
- 18. Cut the tomato into fine cubes.
- 19. Cook the leek for 4 minutes in boiling salted water.
- 20. Drain the leek.
- 21. Let the leek drip dry.
- 22. Cut the meat into bite-sized pieces.
- 23. Season the meat with salt and pepper.
- 24. Fry the meat pieces in hot oil until well browned.
- 25. Fry the meat pieces on each side for approx. 2 minutes.
- 26. Remove the meat from the pan.
- 27. Keep the meat warm.
- 28. Fry the chili briefly in the remaining oil.
- 29. Add the rice to the chili.
- 30. Fry the rice briefly.
- 31. Stir in the sweet and sour sauce.
- 32. Add the leek.
- 33. Add the tomatoes.
- 34. Add the meat.
- 35. Let everything heat up.
- 36. Season to taste with salt and pepper.
- 37. Sprinkle the dish with chopped chives.
- 38. Serve the dish.
