  1. 1. Pre-chill the fridge by setting it to the standard temperature.
  2. 2. Put the flour into a large bowl.
  3. 3. Cut the butter into small cubes.
  4. 4. Add the butter cubes to the flour.
  5. 5. Crack an egg into the bowl.
  6. 6. Add a pinch of salt.
  7. 7. Pour in the milk.
  8. 8. Knead everything into a smooth dough.
  9. 9. Roll out the dough flat with a rolling pin.
  10. 10. Grease a cake pan with a height of 3 cm.
  11. 11. Line the form with the dough to cover the bottom and sides.
  12. 12. Place the form in the fridge for 30 minutes.
  13. 13. Take the form out of the fridge.
  14. 14. Put the quark (curd cheese) into a separate bowl.
  15. 15. Add the cream cheese.
  16. 16. Add the sour cream (Schmand).
  17. 17. Add some salt.
  18. 18. Add some pepper.
  19. 19. Press the garlic through a garlic press.
  20. 20. Add the pressed garlic to the bowl.
  21. 21. Crack the eggs into the bowl.
  22. 22. Whisk all ingredients well together.
  23. 23. Finely chop the herbs.
  24. 24. Gently fold the herbs into the cheese mixture.
  25. 25. Pour the cheese mixture onto the dough in the pan.
  26. 26. Spread the mixture evenly.
  27. 27. Preheat the oven to 180 degrees Celsius.
  28. 28. Place the form in the center of the oven.
  29. 29. Bake the cake for approx. 60 minutes.
  30. 30. Turn off the oven after the baking time.
  31. 31. Let the cake rest for another 10 minutes in the turned-off oven.
