🍽️ Savory Waffles with Vegetables

Ingredients
- 400 g frozen peas
- 200 ml milk
- 4 eggs
- 1 tsp sugar
- 100 g flour
- oil (for the waffle iron)
- 4 bell peppers (2 red and 2 yellow)
- 50 g butter
- 2 tbsp sugar
- salt
- pepper
Instructions
- 1. Put the peas into boiling water.
- 2. Cook them briefly (blanch, meaning cook briefly in boiling water).
- 3. Drain the water.
- 4. Puree the peas together with the milk.
- 5. Stir the eggs into the pea mixture.
- 6. Add half a teaspoon of salt.
- 7. Add the sugar.
- 8. Add the pepper.
- 9. Gently fold in the flour.
- 10. Stir until a smooth batter forms.
- 11. Preheat the waffle iron.
- 12. Lightly grease the waffle iron with some oil.
- 13. Bake the batter in portions.
- 14. Bake thick, crispy green waffles.
- 15. Keep the finished waffles warm in the oven.
- 16. Cut the bell pepper in half lengthwise.
- 17. Remove the seeds.
- 18. Wash the bell pepper.
- 19. Slice the bell pepper flesh into thin strips.
- 20. Heat the butter in a pan.
- 21. Caramelize the sugar in it.
- 22. Cook the sugar until it turns brown and aromatic.
- 23. Add the bell pepper strips.
- 24. Simmer the peppers for five minutes.
- 25. Place the peppers on one half of a waffle.
- 26. Fold the other half of the waffle over it.
