  1. 1. Preheat the oven to 200 degrees Celsius fan-forced.
  2. 2. Mix the flour with the baking powder, half of the cheese, salt, the soft butter, and as much yogurt as needed to form a smooth dough that is easy to knead. Knead the dough only briefly, just as long as necessary.
  3. 3. Roll out the dough on a lightly floured surface to a thickness of about 1.5 centimeters. Cut out 10 to 12 round shapes with a diameter of about 6 centimeters. Place the scones on a baking sheet lined with baking paper.
  4. 4. Whisk the egg yolk with two tablespoons of water and brush the dough circles with this mixture. Sprinkle the remaining cheese on top and bake the scones in the hot oven for about 15 minutes until golden brown.
  5. 5. Remove the scones from the tray and let them cool on a wire rack.
