🍳 Savory Layered Quark Cream

Ingredients
- 500 g cottage cheese (20% fat in dry matter)
- 250 g buttermilk quark
- 250 g reduced-calorie cream cheese
- Juice of one lemon
- 6 tbsp olive oil
- Salt, pepper from the mill
- 1 small loaf of white bread
- 2 garlic cloves
- Herbs of Provence
Instructions
- 1. Whisk both types of quark together with the cream cheese, lemon juice, and two tablespoons of olive oil until smooth.
- 2. Season the quark mixture to taste with salt and pepper.
- 3. Slice the white bread crosswise into even slices.
- 4. Use a round cookie cutter (about the size of a drinking glass) to cut out round discs from the bread slices.
- 5. Heat the remaining olive oil in a frying pan.
- 6. Peel the garlic clove.
- 7. Fry the white bread discs in the hot olive oil until golden brown.
- 8. Press the garlic directly into the pan while frying.
- 9. Fill the quark mixture into a piping bag fitted with a large star tip.
- 10. Layer the quark cream and the fried white bread discs alternately into the glasses.
- 11. Sprinkle the finished cream with fresh herbs and serve immediately.
