🍽️ Spicy Satay Skewers

Ingredients
- 600 g chicken cutlets
- 2 tsp flour
- 2 shallots
- 1 clove garlic
- 1 piece ginger (approx. 3 cm)
- 1 tsp curry powder
- 0.5 tbsp paprika powder (hot)
- 1 tbsp tomato paste
- 4 tbsp soy sauce (dark)
- 2 tbsp oyster sauce
- 2 tbsp honey (to taste)
- 4 tbsp peanut oil
- salt
- pepper
- 16 wooden skewers
- oil (for frying)
Instructions
- 1. Rinse the chicken meat under running water.
- 2. Pat the meat dry with a kitchen towel.
- 3. Cut the meat into strips about 1.5 to 2 centimeters wide.
- 4. Cut the meat strips into small squares.
- 5. Peel the shallots.
- 6. Chop the shallots very finely.
- 7. Peel the garlic clove.
- 8. Press the garlic through a garlic press.
- 9. Peel the ginger.
- 10. Grate the ginger finely on a grater.
- 11. Mix the shallots, garlic, ginger, curry powder, paprika powder, tomato paste, honey, salt, pepper, soy sauce, oyster sauce, and oil in a bowl.
- 12. Stir the mixture until it forms a smooth paste.
- 13. Toss the meat pieces in the marinade.
- 14. Mix everything well until the meat is fully coated.
- 15. Let the meat rest in the marinade.
- 16. Place the wooden skewers in a bowl of cold water.
- 17. Soak the skewers to prevent them from burning while grilling.
- 18. Thread the marinated meat pieces onto the soaked wooden skewers one by one.
- 19. Cook the skewers on the grill or fry them in a pan with a little oil until golden brown.
