🍽️ Spicy Marinated Strawberries

Ingredients
- 4 tbsp good balsamic vinegar
- 1 tbsp aromatic honey (e.g. thyme honey)
- 500 g strawberries
- 2 sprigs basil
- 50 g Parmesan (1 piece)
- 150 g air-dried ham (e.g. San Daniele)
- black pepper
Instructions
- 1. Pour the vinegar and honey into a small saucepan.
- 2. Heat the mixture slowly and stir occasionally.
- 3. Continue cooking until the honey has completely dissolved.
- 4. Remove the pan from the heat and let the liquid cool down.
- 5. Gently wash the strawberries in a bowl of water.
- 6. Place the berries on kitchen paper and let them drain.
- 7. Pat the strawberries dry with the paper.
- 8. Remove the green stems from the berries.
- 9. Cut the strawberries in half or quarters depending on their size.
- 10. Place the cut berries into a bowl.
- 11. Wash the basilicum leaves under running water.
- 12. Shake the basilicum dry to remove excess water.
- 13. Pluck the individual leaves from the stems.
- 14. Cut the leaves into very fine strips.
- 15. Gently fold the basilicum strips into the strawberries.
- 16. Shave the Parmesan cheese into thin slices.
- 17. Distribute the strawberries onto plates.
- 18. Place ham and Parmesan shavings on the berries.
- 19. Drizzle the cooled balsamic syrup over the dish.
- 20. Season everything freshly with black pepper.
- 21. Serve the dish immediately.
