🍽️ Spicy Braised Chard

Ingredients
- 350 g chard (preferably red)
- salt
- 1 small red chili pepper
- 2 garlic cloves
- 1 small handful sultanas
- 2 tbsp olive oil
- 2 tbsp red wine vinegar
- pepper
Instructions
- 1. Wash the chard thoroughly and let it drain.
- 2. Separate the stems from the leaves.
- 3. Cut the stems into wide strips.
- 4. Cook the stem strips in boiling salted water for about 2 minutes.
- 5. Drain the stems and let them dry well.
- 6. Cut the chard leaves into strips about 2 centimeters wide.
- 7. Wash the chili pepper and dry it.
- 8. Cut the chili lengthwise and remove the seeds.
- 9. Roughly chop the chili.
- 10. Peel the garlic and chop it finely.
- 11. Pour boiling water over the sultanas.
- 12. Drain the sultanas and let them dry.
- 13. Heat the oil in a non-stick pan.
- 14. Fry the chard leaves over high heat while stirring for about 1 minute.
- 15. Add the chard stems, garlic, and chili to the pan.
- 16. Fry everything briefly.
- 17. Add the sultanas to the vegetables.
- 18. Deglaze the dish with vinegar and 100 milliliters of water.
- 19. Braise the chard covered over medium heat for 3 to 4 minutes.
- 20. Season the dish with salt and pepper.
- 21. Let the liquid reduce completely uncovered over high heat.
- 22. Serve the chard with rice, for example.
