  1. 1. Wash the chard thoroughly and let it drain.
  2. 2. Separate the stems from the leaves.
  3. 3. Cut the stems into wide strips.
  4. 4. Cook the stem strips in boiling salted water for about 2 minutes.
  5. 5. Drain the stems and let them dry well.
  6. 6. Cut the chard leaves into strips about 2 centimeters wide.
  7. 7. Wash the chili pepper and dry it.
  8. 8. Cut the chili lengthwise and remove the seeds.
  9. 9. Roughly chop the chili.
  10. 10. Peel the garlic and chop it finely.
  11. 11. Pour boiling water over the sultanas.
  12. 12. Drain the sultanas and let them dry.
  13. 13. Heat the oil in a non-stick pan.
  14. 14. Fry the chard leaves over high heat while stirring for about 1 minute.
  15. 15. Add the chard stems, garlic, and chili to the pan.
  16. 16. Fry everything briefly.
  17. 17. Add the sultanas to the vegetables.
  18. 18. Deglaze the dish with vinegar and 100 milliliters of water.
  19. 19. Braise the chard covered over medium heat for 3 to 4 minutes.
  20. 20. Season the dish with salt and pepper.
  21. 21. Let the liquid reduce completely uncovered over high heat.
  22. 22. Serve the chard with rice, for example.
