🍽️ Spicy Baked Chicken Drumsticks

Ingredients
- 1 small onion
- 1 clove garlic
- 5 g ginger
- 2 tbsp olive oil
- 2 tbsp tomato paste
- 3 tbsp balsamic vinegar
- 400 g strained tomatoes (can)
- 3 tbsp soy sauce
- 2 tbsp apple syrup
- 1 pinch curry powder
- Tabasco
- salt
- pepper (from the mill)
- 8 chicken drumsticks
Instructions
- 1. Peel the onion, garlic, and ginger.
- 2. Chop the vegetables very finely.
- 3. Heat the oil in a pot.
- 4. Sauté the vegetables briefly until translucent.
- 5. Stir in the tomato paste.
- 6. Cook the tomato paste for 1 to 2 minutes.
- 7. Add the vinegar.
- 8. Simmer the mixture for about 1 minute.
- 9. Add the tomatoes.
- 10. Add the soy sauce.
- 11. Add the apple syrup.
- 12. Add the curry powder.
- 13. Add a few drops of Tabasco sauce.
- 14. Let the sauce simmer uncovered while stirring frequently for about 10 minutes.
- 15. Reduce the heat.
- 16. Cover the pot.
- 17. Let the sauce simmer gently for another 10 minutes.
- 18. Season the sauce to taste with salt, pepper, and Tabasco.
- 19. Let the sauce cool down completely.
- 20. Preheat your oven to 200 degrees Celsius using top and bottom heat.
- 21. Line a baking sheet with baking paper.
- 22. Wash the chicken drumsticks.
- 23. Pat the chicken drumsticks dry with a kitchen towel.
- 24. Carefully loosen the skin from the drumsticks.
- 25. Push the skin down towards the bottom.
- 26. Spread the prepared seasoning sauce evenly over the meat.
- 27. Pull the skin back up as much as possible.
- 28. Place the drumsticks on the prepared baking sheet.
- 29. Bake the drumsticks for about 25 minutes.
- 30. Baste the chicken pieces with the remaining sauce repeatedly during the baking time.
- 31. Serve the leftover sauce separately on the side.
