  1. 1. Remove the papery husks from the physalis fruits.
  2. 2. Cut the cleaned physalis halves in half.
  3. 3. Place the physalis in a bowl.
  4. 4. Sprinkle sugar over the fruits.
  5. 5. Add lemon juice.
  6. 6. Mix everything well together.
  7. 7. Take dried lavender.
  8. 8. Crush the lavender finely in a mortar.
  9. 9. Place the physalis in a cooking pot.
  10. 10. Add only a little water.
  11. 11. Make sure the top layer of fruits does not float in the water.
  12. 12. Add the crushed lavender to the pot.
  13. 13. Let the mixture come to a boil briefly.
  14. 14. Reduce the heat to a low setting.
  15. 15. Let the compote simmer for about two to three minutes.
  16. 16. Serve the compote as a dessert.
