Ingredients
- 2.5 kg plums
- 500 g sugar
- 1 cinnamon stick
- 1 lemon (juice)
Instructions
- 1. Rinse the plums thoroughly under running water.
- 2. Remove the pits from the fruit.
- 3. Cut the plums into four equal quarters.
- 4. Place the plum quarters into a large cooking pot.
- 5. Add the sugar, cinnamon stick, and lemon juice.
- 6. Stir the ingredients vigorously until well combined.
- 7. Let the mixture stand for two hours.
- 8. Preheat the oven to 150 degrees Celsius.
- 9. Set the oven heating to top and bottom heat.
- 10. Place the pot with the mixture into the hot oven.
- 11. Let the plums simmer for two to three hours.
- 12. Check regularly to see if the fruit is soft.
- 13. Stir the mixture every twenty to thirty minutes.
- 14. Remove the cinnamon stick from the pot when the jam is thick.
- 15. Puree the plums finely with a hand blender.
- 16. Fill the warm jam into clean jars.
- 17. Seal the jars tightly.
- 18. Let the jars cool down at room temperature.
