Ingredients
- 1 kg plums
- 1 piece ginger (approx. 4 cm large)
- 1 kg jam sugar
- 1 packet citric acid
Instructions
- 1. Make a cross-shaped cut into the skin of the plums at the seam.
- 2. Pour boiling water over the plums for a short moment.
- 3. Peel the skin off the plums.
- 4. Cut the plums in half and remove the pits.
- 5. Dice the fruit flesh into small cubes.
- 6. Peel the ginger.
- 7. Grate the ginger finely.
- 8. Mix the diced plums with the grated ginger.
- 9. Add enough water so that the total weight is 1 kilogram.
- 10. Stir the jam sugar into the mixture.
- 11. Cover the bowl and let the mixture sit for 6 hours.
- 12. Slowly bring the jam to a boil.
- 13. Let the jam bubble vigorously for 3 minutes while stirring constantly.
- 14. Stir the citric acid into the hot jam.
- 15. Fill the jam immediately into prepared hot jars.
- 16. Seal the jars tightly.
