  1. 1. Wash the plums thoroughly, cut them in half, and remove the pits. Arrange the plum halves closely together in a baking dish.
  2. 2. Rub flour, butter, vanilla sugar, sugar, and a pinch of salt together between your fingers until crumbly. Mix in the almonds and spread the topping evenly over the plums.
  3. 3. Bake the crumble in the preheated oven at 180 °C (convection 160 °C; gas mark 2–3) for 30 minutes until the top is golden brown. Serve the dessert while still warm.
