  1. 1. Whisk the eggs, flour, milk, and sugar in a large bowl until the batter is smooth.
  2. 2. Let the batter rest for 30 minutes in a quiet place to relax.
  3. 3. Melt some butter in a non-stick pan over medium heat.
  4. 4. Fry eight thick pancakes from the batter until golden brown.
  5. 5. Place the plums in a colander and let the juice drain completely.
  6. 6. Pour the drained plum juice, vanilla sugar, cinnamon, and clove into a small saucepan.
  7. 7. Bring the liquid to a boil once.
  8. 8. Add the drained plums to the pot.
  9. 9. Mix the cornstarch (a thickener from corn or potatoes) with a little cold water until smooth.
  10. 10. Stir the starch-water mixture into the fruit mixture.
  11. 11. Bring the compote to a boil once to thicken.
  12. 12. Let the compote cool down completely.
  13. 13. Fill the cooked pancakes with the cooled plum compote.
  14. 14. Dust the pancakes with powdered sugar before serving.
