🍽️ Flower Pancakes with Sweet Cheese Filling

Ingredients
- 300 ml Milk
- 150 g Flour
- 2 Eggs
- 2 tbsp liquid Butter
- 1 tbsp Sugar
- 1 pinch Salt
- 1 handful Violet flowers
- Butter (for frying)
- 1 unpeeled Orange
- 400 g Cream cheese
- 2 tbsp Vanilla sugar
- 2 tbsp Violet honey
- Powdered sugar (for dusting)
Instructions
- 1. Mix milk and flour in a bowl until the batter is smooth and lump-free.
- 2. Add the eggs and beat them well into the mixture.
- 3. Stir in the melted butter, sugar, and a pinch of salt.
- 4. Let the batter rest in a quiet place for 10 to 15 minutes.
- 5. Clean the violet flowers of any dirt.
- 6. Set aside a few beautiful flowers for decoration.
- 7. Wash the orange under hot water and pat it dry.
- 8. Grate the zest finely and squeeze out some juice.
- 9. Whisk the cream cheese with the vanilla sugar and the honey.
- 10. Add the grated orange peel and 2 to 3 tablespoons of orange juice.
- 11. Stir the filling until it is smooth.
- 12. Gently fold the violet flowers into the pancake batter.
- 13. Add some butter to a hot pan.
- 14. Spread the bottom thinly with batter.
- 15. Fry the pancakes at medium heat for about 1 minute until golden brown.
- 16. Flip the pancakes.
- 17. Fry them for another approx. 1 minute on the other side.
- 18. Repeat this with the remaining batter until you have baked 8 pancakes.
- 19. Keep the finished pancakes warm in the oven at 80 degrees Celsius if needed.
- 20. Spread each pancake with the cheese cream.
- 21. Roll up the filled pancakes.
- 22. Dust them with powdered sugar.
- 23. Serve them garnished with the remaining violet flowers.
