  1. 1. Thoroughly wash the potatoes under running water.
  2. 2. Peel the potatoes completely.
  3. 3. Fill a pot with water and add some salt.
  4. 4. Place the peeled potatoes into the salted water.
  5. 5. Cook the potatoes over medium heat for about 30 minutes until they are soft.
  6. 6. Drain the cooking water from the potatoes.
  7. 7. Press the hot potatoes through a potato ricer into a clean bowl.
  8. 8. Pour the hot milk over the mashed potatoes.
  9. 9. Add the butter to the mash.
  10. 10. Finely chop the parsley and add it.
  11. 11. Stir everything well with a cooking spoon until a creamy mixture forms.
  12. 12. Season the mash to taste with salt.
  13. 13. Add a pinch of ground nutmeg.
  14. 14. Serve the mashed potatoes immediately while warm.
