🍽️ Crispy Pastrami Melt Sandwich

Ingredients
- 2 egg tomatoes
- 1 short baguette
- 2 tbsp butter
- 1 tbsp mayonnaise
- salt
- cayenne pepper
- 4 slices slice cheese (type Emmental)
- 200 g pastrami
Instructions
- 1. Wash the tomatoes thoroughly and pat them dry with a kitchen towel.
- 2. Remove the tough stem ends from the tomatoes.
- 3. Slice the tomatoes into thin rounds.
- 4. Slice the baguette in half lengthwise.
- 5. Spread butter on each cut surface of the bread halves.
- 6. Preheat the oven to 180 degrees Celsius.
- 7. Place the bread halves on a baking sheet with the buttered side facing up.
- 8. Toast the bread in the preheated oven for 5 minutes.
- 9. Remove the baking sheet from the oven.
- 10. Spread mayonnaise on the toasted sides of the bread.
- 11. Layer one bread half with slices of pastrami.
- 12. Distribute the tomato slices evenly over the meat.
- 13. Top the tomatoes with cheese.
- 14. Season the sandwich to taste with salt and pepper.
- 15. Place the baking sheet back into the oven.
- 16. Switch the oven to the top heat or grill setting.
- 17. Grill the sandwich briefly until the cheese starts to melt.
- 18. Remove the sandwich from the oven.
- 19. Place the other bread half on top as a lid.
- 20. Cut the finished sandwich diagonally in half.
- 21. Wrap the ends of the sandwich halves in aluminum foil to make them easier to hold.
- 22. Garnish the sandwich with fresh parsley.
- 23. Serve the sandwich immediately while it is still hot.
