Ingredients
- 750 g parsnips
- 1 l oil (for frying)
Instructions
- 1. Peel the parsnips thoroughly.
- 2. Rinse the peeled parsnips under running water.
- 3. Pat the parsnips dry with a kitchen towel.
- 4. Grate the parsnips into thin, even slices.
- 5. Pat the slices dry again to ensure they become crispy.
- 6. Heat oil in a pan or pot.
- 7. Check the oil temperature by holding the end of a wooden spoon into the oil.
- 8. The oil is ready when small bubbles start to rise around the spoon handle.
- 9. Fry the parsnip slices in the hot oil for about 1 minute.
- 10. Remove the slices from the oil using a slotted spoon.
- 11. Let the oil in the pan heat up properly again.
- 12. Fry the parsnip slices again for about 3 minutes.
- 13. Remove the golden-brown slices with the slotted spoon.
- 14. Place the slices on a kitchen towel to absorb excess oil.
- 15. Season the chips with salt to taste.
- 16. Serve the crispy parsnip chips immediately.
