🍝 Turkey Meatball Pasta in Spicy Tomato Sauce

Ingredients
- 1 onion
- 1 clove of garlic
- 1 carrot
- 1 stalk celery stalk
- 1 tbsp olive oil
- 500 g chopped, peeled tomatoes (can)
- salt
- pepper (from the mill)
- 1 tsp dried oregano
- 1 stale roll
- 500 g ground turkey
- 1 egg
- 0.5 tsp medium-hot mustard
- 1 tbsp freshly chopped parsley
- 20 g ghee
- 400 g penne
Instructions
- 1. Peel the onion, garlic, and carrot. Cut them into very small cubes.
- 2. Wash the celery and remove tough fibers. Cut it into small cubes as well.
- 3. Heat the oil in a pot. Sauté the onion and garlic until they become translucent.
- 4. Add the chopped vegetables (carrot and celery). Let them sweat for a short time.
- 5. Pour the tomatoes over the vegetables. Season with salt, pepper, and oregano.
- 6. Let the sauce simmer on medium heat for 10 to 15 minutes.
- 7. Soak the bread roll in lukewarm water.
- 8. Squeeze the bread well and mix it with the minced meat, egg, mustard, and parsley.
- 9. Season the meat mixture with salt and pepper.
- 10. Form small balls from the mixture.
- 11. Fry the balls in a pan with hot clarified butter until golden brown on all sides.
- 12. Add the browned meatballs to the tomato sauce.
- 13. Taste the sauce with the meatballs and adjust seasoning if needed.
- 14. Cook the pasta in boiling salted water until al dente (firm to the bite).
- 15. Drain the pasta.
- 16. Plate the pasta with the meatball sauce and serve.
