  1. 1. Rinse the mussels thoroughly under running water.
  2. 2. Discard any mussels that are already open.
  3. 3. Let the mussels drain well in a colander.
  4. 4. Cook the pasta in salted water until al dente.
  5. 5. Rinse the parsley briefly and shake it dry.
  6. 6. Pluck the parsley leaves from the stems.
  7. 7. Chop the parsley leaves coarsely.
  8. 8. Peel the garlic cloves.
  9. 9. Finely chop the garlic.
  10. 10. Wash the chili pepper.
  11. 11. Halve the chili pepper lengthwise.
  12. 12. Remove the seeds and white pith from the chili.
  13. 13. Cut the chili into thin strips.
  14. 14. Heat oil in a large pan.
  15. 15. Sauté the garlic and chili in the hot oil for a short time.
  16. 16. Deglaze the pan with the broth.
  17. 17. Let the liquid simmer briefly.
  18. 18. Add the mussels to the pan.
  19. 19. Cover the pan.
  20. 20. Steam the mussels for 4 to 5 minutes.
  21. 21. Discard any mussels that have not opened.
  22. 22. Sprinkle the chopped parsley over the mussels.
