  1. 1. Bring a large pot of water to a boil and add plenty of salt.
  2. 2. Cook the tagliatelle in this salted water until they are al dente (firm to the bite).
  3. 3. Drain the pasta, but reserve exactly one cup of the pasta cooking water.
  4. 4. Place the ricotta in a bowl.
  5. 5. Add 4 to 5 tablespoons of the reserved pasta cooking water.
  6. 6. Add the fresh herbs to the bowl.
  7. 7. Add 2 tablespoons of olive oil.
  8. 8. Season the mixture with salt and pepper to taste.
  9. 9. Add the grated Parmesan cheese.
  10. 10. Stir everything well until a creamy sauce forms.
  11. 11. If the sauce is too thick, add a little more pasta cooking water until it becomes creamy.
  12. 12. Divide the cooked tagliatelle among the plates.
  13. 13. Spoon the ricotta herb sauce over the pasta.
  14. 14. Garnish the dish with fresh basil leaves.
  15. 15. Serve the pasta immediately while warm.
