🍝 Spaghetti with fried meatballs in tomato sauce

Ingredients
- 1 slice toast bread (from the day before)
- 3 tbsp milk
- 400 g minced meat
- 1 egg
- 2 tbsp freshly chopped parsley
- 1 pinch lemon zest
- salt
- pepper (from the mill)
- vegetable oil (for frying)
- 2 shallots
- 1 clove garlic
- 4 tbsp olive oil
- 1 tsp tomato paste
- 400 g chopped tomatoes (can)
- salt
- sugar
- pepper (from the mill)
- 1 tbsp freshly chopped parsley (for garnish)
- 400 g spaghetti
Instructions
- 1. Pour the milk over the toast slices and let the bread soak briefly.
- 2. Add the minced meat, the egg, the parsley, and the lemon zest to the soaked bread.
- 3. Season the mixture with salt and pepper and knead everything well together.
- 4. Form small balls from the meat mixture.
- 5. Peel the shallots and the garlic and chop them finely.
- 6. Heat olive oil in a pot and sauté the shallots and garlic until translucent.
- 7. Stir the tomato paste into the oil.
- 8. Add the tomatoes and let the sauce simmer on low heat for about 20 minutes.
- 9. Season the sauce with salt, sugar, and pepper to taste.
- 10. Cook the pasta in plenty of salted water according to package instructions until al dente.
- 11. Fry the meatballs in hot oil for about 6 to 8 minutes until golden brown on all sides.
- 12. Drain the pasta and let it drain well.
- 13. Distribute the pasta onto plates.
- 14. Place the meatballs on top of the pasta.
- 15. Pour the tomato sauce over the dish.
- 16. Garnish the food with fresh parsley.
- 17. Serve baguette on the side as desired.
