🍝 Pasta with crispy bacon and fresh tomato sauce

Ingredients
- 400 g Farfalle
- Salt
- 1 clove of garlic
- 150 g breakfast bacon (sliced)
- 400 g chopped tomatoes (can)
- 1 ball mozzarella (approx. 125 g)
- 3 sprigs basil
Instructions
- 1. Bring a large pot of water to a boil and add some salt.
- 2. Cook the pasta in this salted water until it is al dente (firm to the bite).
- 3. Peel the garlic cloves and chop them very finely.
- 4. Cut the bacon into small strips.
- 5. Heat some oil in a pot or a frying pan.
- 6. Fry the bacon strips in the hot oil until crispy.
- 7. Add the chopped garlic and fry it briefly until fragrant.
- 8. Pour the tomatoes into the pot.
- 9. Season the sauce with salt and pepper to taste.
- 10. Let the sauce simmer on medium heat for 10 minutes.
- 11. Take the mozzarella out of the package and let the liquid drain off.
- 12. Tear the mozzarella into small, irregular pieces.
- 13. Wash the fresh basil thoroughly.
- 14. Shake the basil dry.
- 15. Pluck the basil leaves from the stems.
- 16. Chop the basil leaves roughly.
- 17. Drain the cooked pasta.
- 18. Add the drained pasta directly into the tomato sauce.
- 19. Fold in the mozzarella pieces into the pasta and sauce.
- 20. Mix everything well until the cheese melts slightly.
- 21. Stir the chopped basil leaves into the pasta mixture.
- 22. Taste the sauce again and adjust with salt and pepper.
- 23. Warm up deep plates.
- 24. Serve the finished pasta into the warmed plates.
- 25. Sprinkle the portions with some fresh ground pepper.
- 26. Serve the dish with fresh baguette or ciabatta bread on the side if desired.
