  1. 1. Bring a large pot of water to a boil and add some salt.
  2. 2. Cook the pasta in this salted water until it is al dente (firm to the bite).
  3. 3. Peel the garlic cloves and chop them very finely.
  4. 4. Cut the bacon into small strips.
  5. 5. Heat some oil in a pot or a frying pan.
  6. 6. Fry the bacon strips in the hot oil until crispy.
  7. 7. Add the chopped garlic and fry it briefly until fragrant.
  8. 8. Pour the tomatoes into the pot.
  9. 9. Season the sauce with salt and pepper to taste.
  10. 10. Let the sauce simmer on medium heat for 10 minutes.
  11. 11. Take the mozzarella out of the package and let the liquid drain off.
  12. 12. Tear the mozzarella into small, irregular pieces.
  13. 13. Wash the fresh basil thoroughly.
  14. 14. Shake the basil dry.
  15. 15. Pluck the basil leaves from the stems.
  16. 16. Chop the basil leaves roughly.
  17. 17. Drain the cooked pasta.
  18. 18. Add the drained pasta directly into the tomato sauce.
  19. 19. Fold in the mozzarella pieces into the pasta and sauce.
  20. 20. Mix everything well until the cheese melts slightly.
  21. 21. Stir the chopped basil leaves into the pasta mixture.
  22. 22. Taste the sauce again and adjust with salt and pepper.
  23. 23. Warm up deep plates.
  24. 24. Serve the finished pasta into the warmed plates.
  25. 25. Sprinkle the portions with some fresh ground pepper.
  26. 26. Serve the dish with fresh baguette or ciabatta bread on the side if desired.
