  1. 1. Place the quark into a fine muslin cloth.
  2. 2. Tie the corners of the cloth together.
  3. 3. Hang the cloth over a pot so the whey can drain off.
  4. 4. Let the quark drain for several hours until it is as dry as possible.
  5. 5. Beat the butter until fluffy.
  6. 6. Transfer the butter into a pot.
  7. 7. Add salt, eggs, sour cream, and the drained quark.
  8. 8. Heat the mixture over very low heat while stirring constantly.
  9. 9. Do not let the mixture boil under any circumstances.
  10. 10. Remove the pot from the heat as soon as small bubbles appear.
  11. 11. Let the quark mixture cool down while stirring occasionally.
  12. 12. Wash the raisins thoroughly.
  13. 13. Dry the raisins with a cloth.
  14. 14. Mix the raisins with sugar.
  15. 15. Fold in the lemon zest.
  16. 16. Add the chopped almonds.
  17. 17. Add the citron.
  18. 18. Add the orange peel.
  19. 19. Wash a flower pot thoroughly.
  20. 20. Dry the flower pot.
  21. 21. Line the inside of the pot with a muslin cloth.
  22. 22. Fill the cooled quark mixture into the pot.
  23. 23. Press the mixture down firmly.
  24. 24. Place a plate on top of the mixture.
  25. 25. Weight the plate with a heavy object.
  26. 26. Place the flower pot on a wire rack.
  27. 27. Place the rack into a bowl.
  28. 28. Place everything in the refrigerator for 24 hours.
  29. 29. Invert the cake onto a plate before serving.
  30. 30. Decorate the cake with candied fruits.
