🍽️ Pepper Chicken with Spätzle

Ingredients
- 1 Chicken
- 4 tsp Paprika powder (mild sweet)
- 2 tsp Paprika powder (rose hot)
- 2 Onions
- 2 Garlic cloves
- 1 Carrot
- 1 Parsley root
- 1 Bell pepper
- Salt
- Pepper
- 3 tbsp Oil
- 0.75 l Poultry stock
- 150 g Crème fraîche
- 300 g Flour
- 200 ml Water
- 3 Eggs
- 0.5 tsp Salt
Instructions
- 1. Divide the chicken into portions.
- 2. Rinse the meat pieces.
- 3. Pat the meat dry with a kitchen towel.
- 4. Peel the onions.
- 5. Peel the garlic.
- 6. Finely chop the onions and garlic.
- 7. Wash the peppers.
- 8. Halve the peppers.
- 9. Remove the seeds from the peppers.
- 10. Cut the pepper flesh into small cubes.
- 11. Peel the parsley root.
- 12. Peel the carrot.
- 13. Finely dice the parsley root.
- 14. Finely dice the carrot.
- 15. Heat the oil in a large pot.
- 16. Add the onion and garlic cubes to the pot.
- 17. Fry the onions and garlic until light brown.
- 18. Add the pepper cubes.
- 19. Sauté the peppers briefly.
- 20. Add the carrot and parsley root cubes.
- 21. Mix everything well.
- 22. Pour in the poultry stock.
- 23. Place the chicken portions in the pot.
- 24. Cook the chicken while you prepare the spätzle.
- 25. Put flour and salt in a bowl.
- 26. Stir the flour with a little water to form a smooth batter.
- 27. Knead the eggs into the dough.
- 28. Add the remaining water gradually.
- 29. Continue stirring until a thick dough forms.
- 30. Knead the dough on the highest setting with a hand mixer.
- 31. Continue kneading until the dough throws bubbles.
- 32. Heat plenty of salted water in a large pot.
- 33. Fill some dough into a spätzle press.
- 34. Press the spätzle into the simmering water.
- 35. Let the spätzle come to a boil once.
- 36. Drain the spätzle.
- 37. Shock the spätzle with cold water.
- 38. Let the spätzle drain.
- 39. Repeat the process until the dough is used up.
- 40. Toss the spätzle in a pan with butter shortly before serving.
- 41. Heat the spätzle in the butter until they are hot.
