🍽️ Oven-Baked Red Mullet with Pepper Cream

Ingredients
- 650 g Red snapper fillet
- 2 tbsp Lemon juice
- 2 bunch Spring onions
- 500 g Marinated bell peppers (skinless, from the jar)
- 2 tsp Thyme leaves (chopped)
- 200 g Cream cheese
- 150 g Crème fraîche
- 3 Eggs
- 2 tsp Paprika powder (sweet)
- Salt
- Pepper (from the mill)
- 2 tbsp Olive oil
- Thyme sprig (for garnish)
Instructions
- 1. Cut the red mullet fillet into small bite-sized pieces.
- 2. Drizzle lemon juice over the fish.
- 3. Season the fish with salt and pepper.
- 4. Wash the spring onions thoroughly.
- 5. Trim the hard ends off the spring onions.
- 6. Slice the white and light green parts of the spring onions thinly on a diagonal.
- 7. Remove the peppers from the sieve.
- 8. Mix the cream cheese with crème fraîche.
- 9. Add the eggs to the cheese mixture.
- 10. Stir thyme into the sauce.
- 11. Add paprika powder to the sauce.
- 12. Season the sauce with salt and pepper.
- 13. Heat oil in a non-stick pan.
- 14. Sear the fish pieces in the hot pan.
- 15. Cook each side of the fish for about one minute.
- 16. Place the seared fish pieces into a greased baking dish.
- 17. Cover the fish with the sliced spring onions.
- 18. Pour half of the cream cheese sauce over the fish.
- 19. Place the peppers on top of the sauce.
- 20. Pour the remaining sauce over the peppers.
- 21. Preheat the oven to 180 degrees.
- 22. Bake the dish in the preheated oven.
- 23. Bake the dish for about 35 minutes.
- 24. Remove the baking dish from the oven.
- 25. Garnish the dish with fresh thyme.
- 26. Serve the dish immediately.
