🍽️ Sicilian-style Roasted Peppers

Ingredients
- 2 kg bell peppers (red and yellow)
- 10 garlic cloves
- 1 shallot
- 1 anchovy fillet (in salt)
- 0.333 bunch basil
- 6 tbsp olive oil
- 4 tbsp lemon juice
- salt
- pepper
- 1 pinch chili peppers
Instructions
- 1. Preheat your oven to 270 degrees Celsius with fan and grill setting.
- 2. Wash the peppers thoroughly.
- 3. Remove the stems and seeds from the peppers.
- 4. Halve the peppers lengthwise.
- 5. Cut the pepper halves into thin strips.
- 6. Place the pepper pieces skin-side up on a baking sheet.
- 7. Put the baking sheet on the second rack from the top in the preheated oven.
- 8. Bake the peppers until the skin develops dark, blistered char marks.
- 9. Remove the peppers from the oven.
- 10. Peel off the charred skin from the pepper pieces.
- 11. Cut the flesh of the peppers into thin strips.
- 12. Peel the garlic.
- 13. Chop the garlic very finely.
- 14. Peel the shallot.
- 15. Slice the shallot into thin rings.
- 16. Rinse the anchovy fillets under running water to remove salt.
- 17. Let the anchovy fillets drain.
- 18. Wash the basil.
- 19. Shake off excess water from the basil.
- 20. Pluck the basil leaves from the stems.
