🍽️ Stuffed Bell Peppers in Tomato Sauce

Ingredients
- 4 red and yellow bell peppers each
- 400 g minced meat (mixed)
- 2 tbsp ghee
- 1 onion (finely chopped)
- 1 clove garlic
- 1 egg
- 100 g cooked rice
- salt
- pepper (from the mill)
- 500 g tomatoes
- 2 tbsp butter
- 1 tbsp flour
- salt

Instructions
- 1. Cut off the top part of the bell peppers to create a lid.
- 2. Remove the inside of the peppers, including the seeds and the white pith.
- 3. Rinse the empty bell peppers thoroughly.
- 4. Dice the onion into small cubes.
- 5. Heat some butter in a frying pan.
- 6. Fry the onion cubes in the hot butter until they are translucent.
- 7. Press the garlic directly into the pan.
- 8. Add the minced meat to the pan.
- 9. Fry the meat until it is crumbly and fully cooked.
- 10. Season the meat mixture with salt and pepper.
- 11. Let the meat filling cool down completely.
- 12. Mix the cooled minced meat with an egg.
- 13. Add the rice to the meat and egg mixture.
- 14. Fill the bell peppers with the meat mixture.
- 15. Wash the tomatoes.
- 16. Chop the tomatoes roughly.
- 17. Put the tomatoes in a pot.
- 18. Pour 1/8 liter of water over the tomatoes.
- 19. Bring the tomato mixture to a boil.
- 20. Season the sauce with salt and pepper.
- 21. Let the sauce simmer gently for about 30 minutes.
- 22. Strain the cooked tomato mixture through a sieve to get a smooth sauce.
- 23. Melt butter in a small saucepan.
- 24. Let the butter foam slightly.
- 25. Stir flour into the foaming butter.
- 26. Fry the flour mixture briefly.
- 27. Add the strained tomatoes to the flour mixture.
- 28. Stir everything together to form a smooth sauce.
- 29. Taste the sauce and adjust seasoning if needed.
- 30. Place the stuffed bell peppers in a baking dish.
- 31. Pour the tomato sauce over the bell peppers.
- 32. Preheat the oven to 200 degrees.
- 33. Place the baking dish in the oven.
- 34. Bake the bell peppers for about 25 minutes.
