🍽️ Paprika-Cheese Salad with Rice

Ingredients
- 200 g Basmati or long-grain rice
- Peppers (1 red and 1 yellow, cleaned, seeded and cut into small diamonds)
- 200 g Cheese (Gouda, Emmental...), cut into cubes
- 2 tbsp Thyme leaves
- 2 tbsp White wine vinegar
- 5 tbsp Salad oil
- Salt
- Pepper (from the mill)
Instructions
- 1. Place the rice in a sieve.
- 2. Rinse the rice under running water.
- 3. Put the rinsed rice into a pot.
- 4. Add twice the amount of water to the rice.
- 5. Bring the water and rice to a boil.
- 6. Salt the water.
- 7. Cover the pot.
- 8. Reduce the heat to low.
- 9. Let the rice steam until the liquid is absorbed.
- 10. Let the rice cool down slightly.
- 11. Whisk the oil with the vinegar.
- 12. Add salt and pepper to the oil-vinegar mixture.
- 13. Add the cooled rice to the dressing mixture.
- 14. Add the thyme to the rice.
- 15. Add the paprika strips to the rice.
- 16. Mix everything well.
- 17. Let the salad cool down completely.
- 18. Let the salad marinate.
- 19. Season the salad with salt and pepper to taste.
- 20. Sprinkle the cheese cubes over the finished salad.
