🍽️ Squid with Bell Peppers and Lime

Ingredients
- 1 lime
- 2 garlic cloves
- 3 tbsp olive oil
- 1 tsp 5-spice mix
- salt
- pepper
- 600 g squid (8 squid; cleaned and ready for cooking)
- 2 red bell peppers
- 150 g tomatoes
- 1 sprig Thai basil
Instructions
- 1. Squeeze the lime to extract the juice.
- 2. Peel the garlic and press it finely.
- 3. Mix the oil, five-spice powder, half of the lime juice, salt, and pepper in a bowl.
- 4. Add the squid to the marinade and toss to coat evenly.
- 5. Marinate the squid in the refrigerator for 1 hour.
- 6. Wash the bell peppers and tomatoes thoroughly.
- 7. Remove the seeds and stems from the bell peppers.
- 8. Cut the bell peppers into thin strips.
- 9. Cut the tomatoes into wedges.
- 10. Heat a frying pan over high heat.
- 11. Add the marinated squid to the hot pan.
- 12. Fry the squid on all sides for 5 minutes.
- 13. Add the sliced bell peppers and tomatoes to the pan.
- 14. Simmer the vegetables for 5 minutes over medium heat.
- 15. Season the dish with salt, pepper, and the remaining lime juice to taste.
- 16. Wash the basil thoroughly.
- 17. Shake the basil dry to remove excess water.
- 18. Pluck the basil leaves from the stems.
- 19. Divide the squid among 4 small bowls.
- 20. Sprinkle the dish with the fresh basil leaves.
