  2. 2. Peel the garlic and press it finely.
  3. 3. Mix the oil, five-spice powder, half of the lime juice, salt, and pepper in a bowl.
  4. 4. Add the squid to the marinade and toss to coat evenly.
  5. 5. Marinate the squid in the refrigerator for 1 hour.
  6. 6. Wash the bell peppers and tomatoes thoroughly.
  7. 7. Remove the seeds and stems from the bell peppers.
  8. 8. Cut the bell peppers into thin strips.
  9. 9. Cut the tomatoes into wedges.
  10. 10. Heat a frying pan over high heat.
  11. 11. Add the marinated squid to the hot pan.
  12. 12. Fry the squid on all sides for 5 minutes.
  13. 13. Add the sliced bell peppers and tomatoes to the pan.
  14. 14. Simmer the vegetables for 5 minutes over medium heat.
  15. 15. Season the dish with salt, pepper, and the remaining lime juice to taste.
  16. 16. Wash the basil thoroughly.
  17. 17. Shake the basil dry to remove excess water.
  18. 18. Pluck the basil leaves from the stems.
  19. 19. Divide the squid among 4 small bowls.
  20. 20. Sprinkle the dish with the fresh basil leaves.
